In the original story, Aladdin is born to a poor tailor in “the capital of one of China’s vast and wealthy kingdoms”.
The man behind ‘The Club Aladdin’ was raised in a ‘kampong’ (rural village) in Singapore where toys were rare but creativity for entertainment was definitely fostered. Leader of the pack at a young age, he would organise hide & seek games, build rafts to float in the sea, and explore apparently ‘haunted’ houses under the cover of darkness. His passion for the great outdoors was further fanned during his Boys Scouts days with mountain climbing, hiking, biking and camping activities.
Adventurous and entrepreneurial, he made his first dollar as a DJ, spinning records after school, which very quickly blossomed into an event planning business when he was only 18. Entertainment has always been a big part for the man behind “The Club Aladdin”. He takes joy in creating unforgettable memories and seeing happy faces.
As Vice President of a Fortune 500 company, he has travelled and lived across many countries in the last 30 years. During this time, he learned new sports and immersed himself in new cultures. Like you, the man behind ‘Club Aladdin’ works hard but also wants to spend quality time with his loved ones.
As we all know, vacation can be disappointing, expensive and sometimes even painful. To this end, using his personal knowledge, the man behind ‘The Club Aladdin’ aims to create a stress-free experience for holiday makers to a new undiscovered destination.

A few years ago, I was invited to a Swiss ski resort with my family. Always keen on a new adventure, I jumped at the opportunity.
Arriving totally unprepared for walking in stiff boots, lugging heavy skis, navigating across deep snow, ascending steep slopes and climbing, falling, tumbling, all in freezing cold with wife and kid tow in the wrong clothes, was a horrible experience of blisters, aches and pain! To top it off, I only managed to see the ‘baby slope’ of the Swiss Alps.
Determined to create a better ski experience, I decided to venture to South Korea and Japan-Hokkaido the following years. It was better, but it came with a considerable price tag. I decided at the time that I was done with ski trips. Or so I thought! In 2019, while based in Shanghai, I was invited to a ski trip by some friends. Despite being skeptical about ski resorts in China, I still accepted. Jilin’s Lake Songhua Resort gave me a delightful surprise.
The resort is well-organised and clean. It is filled with shops, restaurants and bars – all very conveniently located. Its slopes are perfect for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. There, I fell in love with winter again! As fate would have it, while walking around, I stumbled upon a development project of a garden villa and mountain view apartments nestled along the foot of Qingshan Mountain. It was then when The Club Aladdin was born.
Club Aladdin is an exclusive resort by referral for discerning travelers who put a premium on value, privacy, and peace of mind.
